Job Description

Position Description: TheTruck/VanDriver is responsible for all pickups and deliveries, all mail, products, and materials associated with the school system. Reports To: Director of Warehouse Scope of Responsibility: Works closely with the Director of Warehouse to ensure the mission, vision, and a set of measurable objectives are achieved for the Facilities and Maintenance Department. Works with the Maintenance teams to accomplish long- and short-term maintenance plans for JPS facilities. Makes deliveries to various schools and departments on a daily basis and assists with loading the trucks as required. Routinely inspects and maintains vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes in order to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition. Reports immediately any deficiencies or need for service to the Director of Warehouse. Utilizing excellent customer service skills promotes and maintains effective working relationships with other employee sandall members of the general public. Capable of operating a forklift, hydraulich and jack, two wheel hand truck, and motor vehicles to assist in carrying out the business of the department. Counts, sorts, or weighs incoming goods to verify receipt of items against shipping notice. Records and checks quantity and quality of goods received for conformity to purchase orders and specifications. Fills service request workorders, including checking shelves for items, retrieving items. Serves as back up to the Director of the Warehouse as needed. Available on-call for Warehouse after-hours call outs. Maintains cleanliness of assigned vehicle and warehouse. Follow accident procedure. Keep an activity log and log hours. Performs all other duties asassigned by the Director of Warehouse. Successful candidates will also demonstrate and/or possess: 3+years of progressively increasing experience in delivery and warehouse Strong communication skills in multiple settings and the ability to be an engaging change a gent and culture-creator that can inspire and Collaborative management style, with a proven track record of working with diverse individuals at all levels to drive decision-makingand Driver must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 Climbing into and out of the truck is required Must have Commercial Driver's License, Class A or B. Must have good driving Experience in the operation of large and small Must provide medical examiner certificate. High School Diploma, or General Education Degree (GED). Desirable Qualifications: Experience in the operation of large and small Physical Involvement: Sitting is required to drive the truck to each delivery sight. Standing, walking, reaching, bending and lifting up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Climbing into and out of the truck is required constantly.
