Willis Johnson & Associates is seeking creative and self-motivated college Juniors and Seniors to join our growing Marketing and Sales team for an immersive Summer Internship in our Houston office. This is an exceptional opportunity for proactive, strategic thinkers to gain hands-on experience in digital marketing, content creation, and brand storytelling within the financial services industry. In the Marketing and Sales department, our small but mighty team operates with a "work hard, play hard" mentality. We're a fast-paced team. We leave egos at the door and look to drive revenue and firm-wide impact in all we do. This is not a coffee and errands internship. We are looking for self-starters who can take ownership of key projects, create interesting content while maintaining high standards of excellence, and collaborate on projects that will directly impact the firm's bottom line. You'll not only contribute to impactful projects but also engage in a culture of continuous learning and collaboration, where you'll have access to mentorship, networking opportunities, and company team-building events. Here, you'll play an integral role in our marketing efforts, working side by side with senior team members to develop real-world solutions and answer the question, "how could we make this better?" For our team, we're not looking for "just another intern" to join us- we're bringing someone on as our fourth team member to tackle our projects alongside us. Essential Responsibilities: As a Marketing Intern at Willis Johnson & Associates, here are a few of the duties and responsibilities you will take on: Proposing and scheduling social media content calendars and designing content for the posts Conducting competitor research and analyzing digital marketing trends (SEO, email marketing, webinars, and digital ads) to present and implement across channels Supporting business development through email marketing, outreach campaigns, and copywriting for ads, downloadable assets, landing pages, and more Designing impactful marketing collateral (infographics, social media posts, videos, ads, etc.) using tools like Canva, PowerPoint, or other design software What We're Looking For: Self-Starter: You take initiative, own your projects, and don't wait around to be told what to do. Strategic Thinker : You see the big picture of marketing strategy and understand how various tactics drive long-term success. Creative : You're a storyteller at heart and know how to use design tools like Canva to convey a brand's message visually. Detail-Oriented & Process-Driven: You are methodical in your approach, always asking how things can be improved, and driven to execute at a high level. Curiosity: You thrive on learning new skills, challenging the status quo, and finding ways to optimize processes. Collaborative: You work well with others and take a "we all can win" rather than "winner takes all" approach to what you do. Qualifications: Currently a Junior or Senior working towards a degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field with a minimum GPA of 3.0 Strong research, organizational, and communication skills Proficient in design tools such as Canva, PowerPoint, or mockup/graphic tools Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of juggling multiple projects while maintaining quality Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills Must have a designated quiet workspace with secure Wi-Fi for remote work Preferred Skills and Experience: Expert proficiency in Canva's graphic and video editing capabilities Previous experience in video production for Youtube, LinkedIn Shorts, or short-form video channels Basic understanding of personal finance or financial planning Previous experience in content planning and production for a sophisticated, professional audience A portfolio of previous design or content creation work as an individual (writing samples, graphic design, web content, or video; no group projects please) Why Willis Johnson & Associates?
