Job Description

Swedish Medical Group is seeking a full-time Certified Nurse Midwife in its new Midwifery practice at its Edmonds location. This team aims to eliminate health disparities and improve perinatal outcomes through independent, anti-racist, trauma-informed, evidence-based midwifery care. Swedish Medical Group has a long history of Midwifery practices at other sites—and is now expanding Midwifery to its Edmonds location. Ideal candidate is adaptable, mission-oriented, and can work independently.
  • The Lead Midwife works closely with the Medical Director of Midwifery to implement programmatic goals to grow and sustain the Edmonds Midwifery practice. Responsibilities include: managing the hiring, onboarding, scheduling and mentorship of CNMs in the practice; Participating in program-specific and system-wide quality assurance and improvement programs; serving as a professional link between Midwifery and other Swedish practices and departments to facilitate interdisciplinary communication.
  • At least 3 years of clinical experience and at least 2 years of leadership experience strongly preferred
  • AMCB Certification, active DEA, WA State RN/ARNP license and certification from an accredited Nurse Midwifery program required
  • The practice will be initially focused on inpatient care (OB triage, intrapartum and postpartum) and working closely with the Swedish OB/GYN practice; over time, the practice will expand to full scope Midwifery with their own patient panel: a mix of perinatal care, GYN problem visits and annual exams, family planning, and lactation
  • Full time is 36 scheduled patient contact hours a week, plus participation in practice-development and department work
  • The total compensation package includes base salary, quality incentives, and for those interested, extra shift (clinic and call) compensation; as well as PTA and CME benefits; the Lead Midwife is compensated with an additional stipend
  • Comprehensive benefits include health, vision, dental and retirement
  • As a non-profit organization, Swedish is an eligible employer for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program
  • Compensation is between $123,962 and $164,528 per year
  • The compensation amounts listed may include productivity or quality/service incentives, call pay, extra shift incentives, as applicable to the position. In addition, providers may have CME benefits available to them.
